Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C
Climate model results provide the basis for important components of IPCC assessments, including the understanding of climate change and the projections of future climate change and related impacts. The IPCC's Special Report on the impacts of global warming of 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels (SR1.5) relies heavily on the Half a degree Additional warming, Prognosis and Projected Impacts (HAPPI-MIP) project which quantifies the impacts on weather-related risks corresponding to 1.5°C and 2°C of warming. Further details on the HAPPI-MIP project are provided in:
D. Mitchell et al. (2017). Half a degree additional warming, prognosis and projected impacts (HAPPI): background and experimental design. Geosci. Model Dev., 10, 571-583. doi:10.5194/gmd-10-571-2017.
HAPPI-MIP data provided through the IPCC DDC has undergone the quality control procedure, which was established for AR5. To find individual information on data, data creation and data quality for an experiment, please follow the links in the below table. In addition, the corresponding data references for citing the data in literature for each modelling group's contribution are given.
The data is provided in NetCDF/CF format. Information on requested variables are summarised in HAPPI requested diagnostics.
For the data download from the IPCC DDC an account (free of charge) is required: Please register at the CERA Portal. How to download data is explained in the data download guide.
